Synopsis: "The Boys Are Back"

The "American Pie" of Band Road Trip Music Spoof Comedy Movies

An Inspirational Pure Americana Story about making a comeback against all the odds

PG-13 Target Market appeal to tweens, teens, twenties, thirties, families, men and boys of all ages, and a segment of women and girls of all ages.
Three decades after Mikey Nickatello and his boy band “Kids on the Block” break up, Mikey decides it’s time he finds them to bring the group back together.  Inspired by the New Kids on the Block’s recent reunion and MTV’s upcoming Boy Band tribute there is no better time than the present to attempt such a daunting task.  And with only a few weeks before the MTV event it’s a mad dash to get everyone on board and make a push at returning to their former glory.  But with their youth gone, their good looks faded, and their skills not so sharp, the road is going to be a lot tougher than they originally thought.  And to make matters worse, the youngest member’s wife (an evil politician along with her devious political adviser) are convinced the Band’s antics will jeopardize her re-election so she stops at nothing to keep the group from succeeding.  The odds are stacked against "The Kids on the Block", but with the help of their former manager and their new bombshell agent the guys may still have a chance.  They’ll just have to go through vomiting kids, crazed motorcycle gangs, a transformational makeover, and every sleazy bar they can find just to earn the right to say… The Boys are Back!

Music Soundtrack

This list of songs is representative of the sort of tunes that will populate the movie soundtrack.  Hear with your musical ear young guys singing these types of songs in A Cappella as each member rotates in and out of the role as lead singer, despite in some cases, deep mature male voices or soprano female voices. Erase from your mind what the videos look like, close your eyes, and listen to the music.  Imagine these tunes with much more pronounced dance club beats (for songs that obviously are not nightclub mixes) and a powerful Boy Band sound live in concert.

Synopsis:  “Ben the Barbarian”

In a "Lord of the Rings" type of world, we follow Ben, a half-witch, half-human baby who has been sent down a river in order to save his life.  Ben is eventually adopted by the Barbarian king and raised not only as one of their own, but also as their future king.  Living a life of luxury and not being born of barbarian blood, Ben grows up to be the "Anti-barbarian" - -  fat, lazy, and spoiled.  But when his adopted father returns from battle with a cursed wound that can only be cured by magic not existing in their own Barbarian land, Ben makes it his personal mission to save his loving father's life and sets out on an adventure to find the cure.  On his journey Ben befriends two other anti-princes such as himself, an ambiguously gay elf named Armoluse who is the world's worst archer, and Pillow, a dwarf warrior who is considered too small even for his people.  Their destinies appear to be intertwined as both Armoluse and Pillow were sent by their elders to find Ben's father so that they may unite the clans against a common enemy: an evil dark lord who's intent on ruling the world.  The odds are stacked against this fellowship of black sheep and time is ticking as they all must save Ben's father, unite their feuding clans, and defeat the dark lord's gathering army before it’s too late.

Award Winning Screenwriter: Joe Longo

Joseph Longo is  a career Fire Inspector / Fire Fighter in the City of Tucson.  He is married and a father of four beautiful children.

Joe was born on December 22nd 1979 at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.  Joe's father was a career Air Force enlisted man and his mother was a native of Thailand; they met while his father was on an overseas tour during the Vietnam War.  His parents ended up divorcing when he was 5 and he was raised by his mother in the small town of Alamogordo, NM.  They struggled a bit as his mother was a single parent and was limited in her job opportunities as she was illiterate (his mother’s condition was the one the reason he was so drawn to reading and writing), but for the most part he grew up in a happy home.  He spent most of his childhood and teenage years playing sports, writing, helping his mother, and of course dreaming of Hollywood.

After graduation, he immediately signed up and shipped out for the U.S. Navy.  He served his country for five wonderful years.  He was stationed on the U.S.S. Tarawa where he did two Western Pacific cruises and a tour in Iraq as one of the ship’s photographers.  During his time he traveled the world and was forced to grow up fast.  This time of his life would change him forever; it was his time in the Navy that helped him discover himself and truly pushed him to pursue a career in entertainment.

In 2003 his Navy contract was up and it was time to move on.  He eventually moved to Tucson, AZ, with his wife and kids and found a career in the world of Firefighting.  Although the entire process took a year and half, he finally was accepted into the Tucson Fire Academy (It is ranked as one of the top 5 Fire academies in the U.S).  He is currently a Fire Marshall-Inspector and he is in the process of becoming a Captain.

This is who I am.  I live and work for my family each and every day, but my heart belongs to writing.  This is an impossible dream that I hope to soon make possible.  I have had some near misses and almost tasted the ultimate success, but I know it will happen.  So I press on, do my job, write every chance I get, and wait for the day that I can begin the newest chapter of my life knowing.... Soon, I will entertain the world.
